Enhancing resilience of tribal communities through augment rainfed farming  

Few rounds of meetings were conducted with the willing farmers for identification of farms. Soil and seed samples from the farmers were collected and submitted to the Government Soil Testing Laboratory, Vizianagaram District. In the first round, soils from 12 locations spreading in six hamlets have been tested. Details of the soil results are given below:

Seed were collected and submitted for testing the quality. The results are yet to come. Seeds would be procured from three/four sources and after seed test results. A video clipping of the seeds of the cultivated crops have already been shared through email

  • Organized meeting of hamlet level farmers
  • Session on training the farmers on collection of soil/seed samples is complete
  • Exposure visits to areas where rainfed organic farming is being practiced have been identified and planned during May 2017
